WhiskeyHead evolved from an initiative by vocalist Mike Ayres to create a brand new blues band from local experienced and mature musicians.

The original six-piece line-up - Mike A (vocals), Ian (guitar/slide/harp/vocals), Mike L (lead guitar), Iain (keyboards), Rich (bass) and Sid (drums) -played their very first gig at the Jolly Tar, Nantwich in September 2009

In 2010 Mike A and Rich were replaced by Ray (vocals) and Chris (bass). This line-up remained the same until July 2011 when Iain returned to his native Scotland

Since that first date WhiskeyHead has completed more than 70 bookings at 50 different venues across South Cheshire and North Staffordshire and played in many music and blues festivals
